Blåa penséer - Blue Monday
Birger Kaipiainen was the Finnish ceramist behind this beautiful tree filled with blue pansies. He died in 1988 and is one of Finland's most famous artists. In 1960's he designed the tableware set Paratiisi that my parents still use in their home.
I found this gorgeous tree at the Design Museum when I visited Helsinki in the beginning of this month and it gave me loads of inspiration for my ceramic work in the autumn!
Hi Anni,
SvaraRaderaOh, this is simply gorgeous and perfect for Blue Monday! Thanks for playing today.
Happy Blue Monday,
I love pansies!!!
SvaraRaderaJust stunning. Love it for Blue Monday.
SvaraRaderaWhat gorgeous ceramics, with the blue pansies. I admire really precise texturing and glazing, it's so difficult.
SvaraRaderaWhat amazing work of art. Glad you shared this masterpiece with us.

I have always had a soft spot for pansies, they are such a cheerful flower and any flower that is happy to bloom in Winter and summer gets my vote for a great plant! I can see why this would give you such inspiration, I can't wait to see the results on your blog!
SvaraRaderaWren x
